We all know first impressions can count, this is particularly true for social media.
It's essential to make sure all your boxes are ticked, one of those boxes, is creative size. Having an awesome, thought evoking and product selling image is great. But should it be pixelated, stretched, hard to make out in smaller sizes, you've lost your opportunity to attract those eyes.
Brands that use pixelated and low quality creatives make themselves look
unprofessional or just not in touch.

The following sizes are recommended as best practise.
Facebook
Profile photo should be 180x180 pixels
Cover images need to be 820x312 pixels min, to avoid stretching
Images shared in a post should be 1200x630 pixels
LinkedIn
Profile photo's should be 300x300 pixels
Business background image should be 1536x768 pixels
Post images should be 1200x630 pixels
Twitter
Profile image 400x400 pixels
Header image should be 1500x500 pixels
Images attached to Tweets, should be 440x220 pixels minimum or 1024x512 pixels maximum
Instagram
Profile photo's should be 110x110 pixels
Image thumbnail images appear at 161x161 pixels
Square image uploads should be 1080x1080 pixels
Rectangular images should use a 4:5 ratio
Instagram Stories require 1080x1920 pixels or an aspect ratio of 9:16
YouTube
Profile image 800x800 pixels
Custom thumbnail Images should be 1280x720 pixels
Cover photo should be 2560x1440 pixels
